I work in construction, AI can't lay bricks, AI can't mix concrete, AI can't install windows. funny how all the smug white collar cunts who kept demeaning me and my bros are getting mass replaced by a glorified chatbot, while me and the boys are chilling on a construction site, laughing at them.

Serious question tho
What happens if AI steals all the jobs
Like every single one of them
Who will have money to buy stuff?
If no one works, no one have money

This desu, I wanted to work in graphic design-related anything ever since I was a kid, my dad, a construction worker, wanted me to try into architecture instead but even on the first day of the course he signed me up for the instructor said I'm way more talented in storytelling and should go for concept art/illustration
Now 3 years later in art school, anxious about my future I keep thinking about how my dad is just chilling in his ever-needed field, following years of his work experience, fully secure and comfortable
Tho he works 10 hours 5 days a week which is unhealthy as fuck so as always, something for something

new jobs will be made, it's the nature of the economic system

Currently
>Only 20% of jobs are involved in production of goods and resources or essential services (it used to be 80% as recently as the 1940s)
>over 40% of people polled believe [correctly] that their jobs literally do not do anything or accomplish anything
>Society ran fine during covid when many people quit working (only a minority are involved in actual important work, the vast majority do not do anything necessary for society to function)

Work in the modern sense is a way for the rich to build their wealth and power. It's not primarily for producing actual societal function. There will always be work

it will go back to normal if all labor is made redundant but companies don't have any business to pay their electric bill (since none of us have jobs)

the coprorate goal of eliminating the work force doesn't make any sense long term. The only reason we work is to buy things, and the only reason we buy things is because we work
