Not to mention you guys are a federation and people from different states could be very different from each other. As a matter of fact, American people might be one of the few ethnicities that I can't just make an assumption of. I've never found that "straw-sucking hick" stereotype to be accurate.
However, isn't it natural for a dominant culture to exist that *MOST* people from a country will adopt, considering that a country, is a single body being governed by a set of laws, that has a native language and a determined education system? And wouldn't this culture become even more dominant if we were to talk about smaller countries?
If I were to give an example, I would say that most people from the middle east are very sinister and two-faced, because for most of them, it's a part of their culture to take advantage of the weak, and kindness could be mistaken for weakness.
