i've been all over europe, the middle east, far east, the us, and colombia, and my fucking lord, the food here in colombia is bland as hell. It's quite literally the "wy pipo don season dey food" meme brought to life

i've spent a month here in bogota, and, help me lord, i still have four more months of eating the blandest shit ever

every time i'm too lazy to cook, i go to a restaurant hoping i'll finally get something tasty, but NOPE. Even hamburgers, fucking hamburgers, taste like i'm chewing on cardboard stuffed between two buns.

i've tried arepas, empanadas, bandeja paisa, all that, but i've never felt so underwhelmed in my life

You're in Colombia.
You're supposed to be high on cocaine BEFORE your meal.
That's their secret seasoning.

they don't use any form of seasoning at all, nor do they have any decent sauces on the side like mexicans do. Take a look at this, this is bandeja paisa, their pride and joy. I've had it in three different places, all recommended to me by locals, and it still tasted like ass

rice is dry, the beans feel like someone just opened a can and dumped it on the plate without even bothering to add salt. Same with the eggs, same with pretty much everything else

the only good part are the bananas, or as they call them, plátano maduro, those actually taste great

everything else is just so fucking bland i genuinely don't know how to describe it anymore
