why do americans live in wooden huts despite being the richest country?
even silicon valley, san jose, palo alto, LA, orange county is 95% single story wooden shacks that are worth 2-3 mil / piece. and you have to own a car and commute an hour a day to get anywhere, make it make sense.
it's like the opposite of here, americans build single story detached homes when there really should be a city, and here they build 30 story high rise blocks in the middle of open spaces for no reason

There isn't actually anything wrong with wood construction for housing regardless of climate as far as durability
My grandmother lives in a cottage house constructed from wood that's over 100 years old and outside of a new roof and while the imprecise nature of the workmanship typical to the polish countryside from a century ago is obvious to anyone visiting (there isn't a single window opening that's plumb) the fact is that people who erected this house knew what necessary steps to underatke in order to prevent ingress of moisture, mould and proper material selection to make a structure to outlast empires with little maintenance required.
Americans are just fat lazy and stupid and they want a 1000 sqaure meter house for the price of a garden tool shed erected by illiterate mexicans whos entire job training has been relayed to them in the bed of a pickup truck on their way from the border crossing to the construction side using only the cheapest and shitty factory manufactured materials known to man.
