at what age did you stop watching anime in your country? what was the anime that made you say "fuck this shit"?

30yo, i still watching it, anime is the last soulful type of media. Have you tried watching any western media made after 2016?

when i tried watching anything other than classics and found that it's lowest common denominator garbage that weebs worship just because it's japan.
they'll usually justify it with some meaningless buzzword like 'sovl' or 'not woke', on account of their very low IQ and because being a weeb is part of their identify.

I stopped around eighteen when I relized i hated /a/, started watching again during lockdowns, and stopped again this year when my mental health fell off a cliff and i decided to stop wearing pajamas and showering (i only watch anime in pajamas)

It's Arch with KDE Plasma, using cachyOS repositories. As far as running wayland on Nvidia hardware going by anecdotes it's a lot more stable now but I'd be lying if I tell you anything because I have not run an Nvidia card since 2022 when it was buggy as hell.

The last thing I watched was Astrofighter Sunred out of nostalgia

Never happened. Anime has been part of my life since I was old enough to understand English (around 5th grade).
I watch it almost daily.
Just finished season 1 of Dan Da Dan and the first episode of season 2.
Top tier anime.

When I was nineteen I guess. Nothing made me say "fuck that shit", I just lost any interest in anime.

I stopped watching anime when I was 15 because I realised it was a waste of time and reading manga was better

Around my mid 20s I watched the last anime I'd ever finish. I've watched an episode or two here and there since, but none just really every compels me to watch the whole thing. I haven't watched one for years at this point. Parasyte is the last that I watched to the end, even though it quickly turned trash. In hindsight, it had a lot of stupid tropes that irritated me from the start.

6, but I continued to watch cartoons until around 10 or 11.
By the time I was 12 I watched the "adult-friendly" ones only, like Simpsons and Family Guy, then moved to sitcoms (Two and Half Men, Friends, Seinfeld), then no TV at all, as I stopped watching it at 14.
Since then, I've only watched a few comedy shows, which I download from PB, such as Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, and Blackadder.

the three points in time i’ve ever been an “anime guy” have been during intense mental episodes following either breakups or serious personal issues. the most recent one was my breakup of a three year relationship. started by rewatching toradora in december and went through all of the classics from Katsuhiro Otomo and Akira Toriyama’s filmographies to rewatching old stuff like Trigun and Lain

i’ve watched some serious anime slop back in the day and it’s all awful. if it is not highly acclaimed stuff it’s usually slop.
