Why are americans so passionate about politics?
It's not that serious. You vote for someone, they do the job and that's it.
But americans will go out in droves to stand around watching some guy speak about how good he is. They buy merch and sing about their favourite politician as if he or she was a saint.

We don't do that in Europe.

In Europe you can either vote for the party that will control the coalition, which is always some flavor of progressive, or you can waste your vote. There are no real options.

Because every civilization that peaks at the top (such as the greatest nation in history of humanity, USA), people get bored. There is no conflict anymore, no venue to satisfy their faustian spirit. Man yearns for action, but when you live in a country where you literally cannot suffer, there is no opportunity to satisfy that yearning.

So they turn to politics and create that conflict for themselves. They are willingly tearing their country apart, not because their two political parties are different (they aren't, they are identical), but because it is impossible for great man to not tear apart their great works. So they grasp at any excuse to be able to actually feel alive.

It might seem absurd to us suffering Europeans, for whom every day is an actual survival battle, that the greatest nation ever is willing to destroy themselves over things like trannies and brown people in capeshit movies. But in actuality it is a reflection of American soul. They embody the best of humanity. And that means willingness to burn down the great works that they have painstakingly built.
