suburbs are literally the cheapest places on earth, their only saving grace is that you can buy a house in a decent neighborhood for $150k if you’re okay with being 1 hr+ outside of the city

No not really.
1. Swedish people do not use cash.
2. Modern cellphones aren't worth stealing here due to everyone already having a flagship. No market for it.
3. Covid social distance rules were nothing compared to the normal social distance people keep from each other here. Hard to "accidentally" bump into someone when you have plenty of free space around you.

With that said, there are immigrant gangs who focus 100% on tourists in areas like Old Town Stockholm and stuff due to them carrying cash.
