In Italy it's the vipera too, I mean it's way more common to be bitten by a viper (hundreds of cases every year) than to meet a wolf, deaths because of the poison are rare but they still happen while I've never heard of anyone who died because of wolves

The country does. My state doesn't have much. There are black bears in the mountains but generally they're not aggressive. We do have snakes though, and deer like to run into the road and cause accidents
