Does matter? TSMC and ASML are needed to make their chips. They don't build anything, only design stuff. They don't even own the ISA (ARM). The companies that make AI models will start designing their own chips like Apple did and TSMC will build them using machines from ASML. The cloud providers will start designing their own AI chips and TSMC will build them using machines from ASML.

A chip that's design specifically for a family of AI models will always outperform a more 'general AI' chip, look at Google's TPUs. The top AI models are made by Anthropic (they are the best currently), OpenAI, Google, Mistral, the Chinese company behind DeepSeek etc. Not NVIDIA. The market for NVIDIA chips are a lot smaller than most people understand and NVIDIA has nothing protecting their moat except some designs and software. That won't protect their high margins. Just look at Apple and how quickly they were able to design the best chips because they control both the software and hardware. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google etc. will control the software (AI models) and harware while NVIDIA will only control the hardware. NVIDIA won't go out of business but they are very overvalued.
