No, you can't. Even the poorest burger is a richfuck by global standards. Missing out on the US consumer market means staying poor forever.

We are voluntarily severing ourselves from the global market, pissing off our allies, and destroying generations of American soft power in favor of pure hard power since our president is retarded. Eventually it's going to become too expensive and chaotic to deal with the United States economically.
China is more predictable in its dealings with other countries. We're practically serving the position of world hegemon to them on a silver platter.

True, but how much of this is due to US dollar's position as a global reserve currency? A position which is being undermined by these trade wars?

China will never be an importer consumer market. They literally artificially keep their citizenry poor by international purchasing power standards in order to help their exports. In return they can buy a bunch of domestically produced stuff obviously. They'll never replace the US as THE consumer market though. They don't want to. Ironic as it is, no two countries depend on eachother more than the US and China

You ARE the global market. You built it, you maintain it, it cannot exist without you. If the US Navy stops guaranteeing trade security on the global oceans then global trade is gone and so is China because, unlike you, they are the most import dependent country in the world. Without global trade they would be facing apocalyptic famine within a year. And no, the Chinese navy cannot replace the US in that role, their ships lack the range.

A lot of it
>A position which is being undermined by these trade wars?
It is undermined by that but the position is so strong that it currently doesn't matter. There is no other viable reserve currency. The Euro once upon a time seemed like a candidate but that was a looong time ago.

Instead of the dollar, there won't be one world reserve currency, trade will be conducted in multiple currencies. The US dollar only became the world reserve currency because the rest of the West had to recover from the second world war, today none of the major powers will allow any other power to enjoy the massive financial benefit of having their currency be the world's reserve currency.

This will only happen if global trade collapses into regional trade, which would destroy industrialization in half the world.

If America tries to block Chinese ships, that would trigger WW3.

>This will only happen if global trade collapses into regional trade,
That's not true. Russia can trade with Brazil in Reals or Roubles, Thailand can trade with France in Bahts or Euros. There is no advantage of having one world reserve currency for any country except for the country which controls that currency. Accepting the dollar as the world's reserve currency was the payment that America's allies made in exchange for American defence guarantees.

>that would trigger WW3.
There will be no WW3 so long as nukes exist and destruction remains mutually assured. But even if nukes magically disappear, China could only fight the US if Europe sides with China, which they won't because they're still militarily dependent on the US. The US Navy is as strong as the next 6 strongest navies combined and most of those are in Europe. On it's own China has no way to physically reach the US because their ships would be crushed long before they get there.
>There is no advantage of having one world reserve currency for any country except for the country which controls that currency.
Sure, but there is an advantage to having some reserve currency and there are criteria that a currency has to meet in order to be desirable as a reserve. It just so happens that the US Dollar is the only currency in the wirld that qualifies. There's a reason people start buying Dollars when their country's economy becomes unstable.
