This brand of American who's obsessed with the supposedly imminent collapse of the Chinese economy and government has always been extremely funny to me. China cease to exist overnight and 99% of Americans wouldn't benefit from it in any meaningful way. I don't understand why there's such a strong sentiment here to view China as out enemy.

But 60 years isn’t that long a timeframe in historical terms. Even if they get the precise decade wrong, if they’re able to identify fundamental problems with China’s government or economy that make them fundamentally unsustainable, isn’t that significant? Whether they fall in 2025 or 2055, if there are fundamental problems they’re not getting resolved without dramatic change
