I mean, it's batshit insane when you think about it.
But far from the worse when it comes to religions.

they used to be kings. nowadays they represent the poor and/or off-white white people. basically if you talk loud, use seasoning, and have (sometimes questionable) european heritage, you're probably catholic

I think their asinine absolutist leadership structure makes them comically prone to bad faith (pun intended) agents who will erode their beliefs into tragicomical nothingness. Ordinary European caths are mostly fine, however, they still belong to an Apostolic heritage according to Orthodox teaching - unlike prods.

I was baptized and confirmed Catholic. I officially left the church last year because church tax is levied for official members in Germany and I don't want to pay that, it's almost 50โ‚ฌ per month for me. I don't believe in it anyway, but I like the community and its traditions. I occasionally go to church with my mother and sister, mostly on Christmas eve or easter night, it's always nice and it touches my soul, I love the story of Christ, I just can't believe in it.

maybe I should be less stingy and rejoin despite the tax.

true. What I think is nicer about Protestantism I think is the stronger focus on Christ. The story of Christ is fundamental, not how the Israelites were so much better than all the other subhuman people. But since I was raised Catholic, Catholic mass is familiar to me and Protestant isn't. I just zone out when they read from the bible during mass and enjoy it again when hymns are sung together, there are prayers or when the priest preaches in his own words about contemporary topics.

it's not as radically different as you think. plenty of old testament sermons in my protestant church. no kneeling, but my particular branch of protestantism has more structured services. some branches of protestantism are even more similar to catholicism than mine.

You sure about that? Like, you didn't even open Saint Peter's wiki page? He founded the PATRIARCHATE of Antioch first in 31AD. All Cucktholic pseudohistorical cope relies primarily on obscurantism and deception via mass popular culture to work.

It is the only branch of Christianity left that is both sane and functional.
