Why is it always Germans?
Every time I hear about tourists getting lost, 9/10 times they're Germans. It's like they have some innate navigational deficiency.

Is this why they never established a maritime empire like the rest of Europe?

I think they underestimate things for some reason. I remember that infamous case where an entire German family walked into Death Valley in the US and then even a few months ago there was another German tourist here that did the same dumbass thing (she survived but still). Germans just seem to love walking into deserts with no preparation.

They’re arrogant and ignore the advice of the locals thinking they know better. They have a weird sense of ownership of American national parks for some reason; I genuinely don’t know what that’s about
It was funny being in Switzerland and hearing the Swiss talk shit about them the same way. Arrogant and rude

Germans have no sense of space, they oftentimes get lost in the middle of the street blinking around as if someone put them in the middle of a forest.

I think Germans are used to hiking off trail in Europe which is probably a lot safer to do because it’s a hospitable domesticated forest and so they think that walking off trail at a national park in southern Utah will be equally safe.

Your cars are tougher than you'd think. We were also testing the Ford Mustangs to be our Hhighway Patrol but they kept breaking during the pursuit tests, while the BMWs were perfect. We do also ahve some Chrysler 300 SRTs for HWP depending on the area too.

They weren't that good for keeping pace with the cars the public have here, we have a lot of higher spec Euro cars, American cars and our own older models with V8s and turbos, along with heavily modded riceboxes that go faster than standard.

A German got lost in my backyard and I would occasionally feed him spare pieces of bologna (I'm not sure what they're supposed to eat be he seemed to enjoy it). He stopped showing up about six months ago, I hope he managed to find his way out. I set up a trail camera hoping to find him but so far, it's just been opossums setting it off.

Anonymous Germany No.212674475 [Report] >>212674568
>>212674356
that's cool too
H130 is from the French part of Airbus helicopters, H145 is from the German part
pretty sure H145 is more widespread for search and rescue and medevac tho because it can carry more
I wish Airbus helicopters was building very heavy ones too, but in the west only Boeing and LockMart (Sikorsky) are doing that. that's why Germany has some Chinooks on order.

That was an issue in the 90s with BMW police cars. Not anymore. BMW briefly sold the 5 and 3 series as police cars in the US. Some agencies in the south and California bought a few but the cooling systems would melt and cause the engines to blow up when it was like 100°f+ ~ (40°c+) in summer. It killed the reputation from BMW police cars in the US market. They've since been modified to handle heat better. Police in South Africa, Southern China, Arab countries etc also use BMW police cars. IIRC, Mexico is going to replace their Dodge Charger police cars with the BMW 3 because they're perpetually butthurt about America.

Speaking of Germans and Mexico, there was a good pasta from /k/ about the Mexican navy having to go rescue some German tourist.

>German visits Mexico ans ignores canoe rental place who say not to go too far out to sea
>German goes too far out and gets stranded off the coast of Cancun.
>German gets rescued by a navy helicopter after 3 days at sea
>Helicopter lands and they tell the German guy not to get off the helicopter until the engines are stopped
>German says something like "it's okay, I know all about helicopters", exits helicopter and walks face first into the spinning tail rotor

No, like in this case it's more that they seek out utter wilderness, places where there's no other human. But also no mobile phone reception and where they can't be found if they have an accident.

our CH-53s are decades old G models and need replacement. two options were the CH-53K and CH-47F Block II, latter was chosen due to lower cost + interoperability with allies, who use the Chinook way more (only the USMC uses the CH-53).
i love the CH-53 tho, they used to be stationed on an airfield close by my grandparents' house, me and my brother always got excited when we were children and they flew over my grandparents' garden.
