Capitalism originated in the Netherlands, UK and somewhat Renaissance Italy.
Industrialization came from Britain.
Most modern modes of transportation are German, French or American.

The Greeks were just very, very ahead of their time in intellectual pursuits, but Enlightenment age Europe ultimately surpassed them completely.
