You might struggle in some shops and cafés here in Sweden. A lot of places are cashless.
Like 2% of all purchases are made in cash here.

For example, small vendors might not either, especially outside of the cities. Bring a debit card if you want to pay with a card. If you need/want to use a credit card make sure its Visa or Mastercard.

Thank you, very good knowledge.
Also, is there a rule against using $50 or $100 bills like in the US?

people will look at you funny and irritated if you pay for a kebab with a 100€ bill, but nah. There was a thing against 500€ bills, but those aren’t a thing anymore.

Yeah 100 and 50 notes are fine, i generally keep one of each but mostly use 10 or 20 bills.
500 are gone now and they were not "appreciated", and i basically never use 200 bills either.

Also forgot to mention, restaurants, bars and cafes are surprisingly often cash only too (they will say so at the entrance), but this has changed recently and its less common now.

Germans still love cash. Almost everywhere else it is the province of old people.

I understood that the rule is not to use bills with large amounts.
Also, it can be a hassle to return change.
Also, it's the same in all countries that small size stores don't like credit cards.
Japanese stores often don't want to pay fees, and there are still some stores that only accept cash.
