They didn't lose any tech though, they lost their balls and lost the necessity to risk lives and lost public support over Challenger and already know what the moon is like. And there wasn't "a" moon landing there were several, and more flybys.
"The tech" is a shit mainframe style calculator and the ability to understand physics.
I'm glad foreigners are still flabbergasted that our recent ancestors were so competent. But I do wish the USSR and cosmonauts got more recognition for their program. One of the few great things they did.

It's a lot more than that, anon. Armstrong wrote a whole PhD thesis on docking procedures lol. Watch Scott Manley's Real Solar System series on yt. The guy explains just how much bullshit rocket scientists had and have to deal with. There's like two dozen types of propellants, each with pros and cons, for starters. Gas cycles in rockets, chamber resonances, precision telemetry, etc etc.

The real moon has been missing since April 23rd, 2013. That was when I first noticed something was wrong. For years I tried to find out what happened to the real moon but never found any solid evidence regarding its disappearance. And I believe that my investigations attracted some dangerous attentions so in the end I had to give up for fear of my safety. Sadly it looks like they'll get away with yet another abomination, waved mockingly right in everyone's faces. Dunno what that bloated ugly thing in the sky these days is but it sure isn't the Moon that inspired so much art and poetry. Maybe it's a hologram like that other guy said, maybe it's just a flat circle they put in the sky, but whatever it is it didn't come from nature.
