Im not a big fan of James gunn but he did a neat perfect superman adaptation which has never been done.

The normal crap like he's a Jewish figure which was near instantly checked by actual fans kept popping it up. For instance Superman's actual kryptonian name is Kal L not Kal el but the authors changed it over but kept the og name in places.
