It's still better than standing in a queue and watching an old lady count pennies while she pays for her £87 purchase.

and loads better than standing in a queue watching a fucktard zoomer trying to coerce its smartphone to actually work with the terminal because they absolutely MUST use that shitty new payment app that no one in the real world gives a shit about

>packs the items into the bag at the checkout
>that is going to be 7610 HUF
>she just NOW STARTS LOOKING FOR HER PURSE
I honestly do not understand these NPCs man, I mostly use card but when I pay with cash I not just know where the fuck it is I actually add the items in my head to know which banknotes I will likely have to give. Then there are people who stand in line for 5 minutes just looking out of their head and only when they packed everything into the bag and have to pay they realize they dont even know where their purse is. Then its another minute of
>ummmm lets see so I have these banknotes, do I have some coins oooorrrrrr

The experience in smaller stores here genuinely gets me fuming sometimes by the time I walk out

Do you guys have stores that use these old Ingenico terminals that take like 10 seconds to verify the payment? I hate standing there like a retard until it gets verified because they are too cheap to buy a modern terminal that probably costs like 40 euro

Anonymous Estonia No.212788790 [Report]

you don't even have to cash out to get a newer terminal. you can just sign a rent contract for a couple of euros a month and the operator will upgrade your terminal no costs involved

the last place i saw one of those old terminals was on a local bus in the countryside. it took forever to validate and the printout was super slow

I'm 30+ and I pay like that now.
My debit and credit cards are both "inside" my phone.
You just use the BankID app to scan them in (literally put the phone on top of the card, it reads the info on the chip, put in the security numbers and done).
When I wanna pay in a store I just open my digital wallet, choose the card and hold the phone over the terminal and use my fingerprint to clear the payment. Takes 1-2 seconds. Receipt directly on my phone, little text box shows exactly how much money was used etc.

Meanwhile when I try paying using my actual cards it always takes like 10 seconds for the damn card reader to clear it no matter if i swipe it, use the chip or blip it.

do you need an active internet connection to pay with qr code?
i know that i can pay with my phone through nfc without connection

I also always pay in cash, but I count beforehand what I approximately owe so I don't stop the queue for 10 minutes like those geriatric boomer fucks

Unfortunately yes. It's kinda why QR payment kinda died here and NFC took over.
When you can the QR code your phone gets the info but the phone also has to send info out to the store and bank system. Which is why that particular system can be slow and unreliable.
