It's like 300€ upfront to start printing and then like 20€ /kg for the material. Is that a large sum of money in Serbia?

the bambu a1 mini is 200€ and yeah it's small, but it's genuinely such a simple printer to use and for that price it's a steal, especially if you just want to print small fixes around the house or sell those flexible dragons

I enjoy 3D modelling and have thought about getting one but then I think, I'm just going to fill up my home with useless little printed models and other rubbish, what for. Very rarely do I think "huh I could 3D print this if I had a 3D printer". I'm more interested in getting a laser cutter to be fair.

You might actually be the target audience for the Bambu H2D, it's a 3d printer/laser cutter/regular cutter
though it's probably just more cost effective to get a machine that's good at one thing rather than a jack of all trades

Yeah A1 is supposedly great for its price but the only Bambulabs printer I've tried is the P1S which is a really nice printer, although costly. I bought an Ender 3 Neo V2 for like 220€ including a nozzle cleaning kit, two bottles of adhesive and two kilos of PLA for my first printer since I figured that any problem I run into has already been solved by the community due to its popularity.

Yea the Ender 3 is still a solid printer if you're willing to put a modicum of effort into fixing things or upgrading it and the community is huge, but after getting an A1 and everything just working almost all the time I can't ever go back to manually leveling a bed again
The big negative about bambu is the chinese question and how they're not privacy friendly, but I've had my machine on LAN mode since I got it and I guess it's fine for now, but I'm really considering not getting another bambu for my next printer, possibly a Centauri Carbon if there's some fixes in the near future

Part of the charm of the Ender 3 is tinkering with it. And I had the Neo V2 model which had most of the kinks sorted out already so I didn't need to upgrade it, just finetune it constantly. But yeah I'd probably buy a Prusa XL or a Bambulabs P1S if I was in the market for a new printer and needed something that performs well consistently.

If you look around you might find something like it in your area. There's also these things called "hacklab" in Finland where you pay some measly amount for a monthly membership and get access to a range of tools such as 3D printers, basic machining equipment like welding stations and drills, electronics assembly equipment and such.

I've designed a lot of casings for stuff like RasPi applications and such and I even designed a robotic gripper that can be printed and modularly added on to. I've done lots of stuff which I simply 3D printed, then iterated on the design. It's extremely efficient for prototyping.

3D printing is great for modeling. You don't even need to print the actual character models. I've printed some texture rollers to use on modeling clay, it's the bees knees. Also windows, doors, furniture and such when you make e.g. a tavern for Mordheim or a 40K cathedral from scratch.

Well I've used my Ender 3 Neo V2 for such but as noted the Bambulabs A1 might be the better option if you don't want to be adjusting it all the time. Both are ~200€. And if you don't want to splash that cash on something you're not sure about, check out some 3D models on free sites (which are where I got all my 3D models for miniature modeling) such as thingiverse and sketchfab.
>>212799842
This guy is also right. Terrain and fixtures such as doors and windows are easily printed with FDM printers but if you want to print characters you need a resin printer which are harder to come by for public use.

I 3d print molds with a wax filament and then cast old lead airgun pellets into them. Lead is great because it melts quickly, oxidizes very slowly in its molten state, doesn't fume like zinc, and casts under its own gravity without making voids, if you use an electric burner there's usually no risk of vaporizing it either.

seems cool for decorative stuff.
ive made things where its too big for one print so there's holes for bolts+nuts to connect them but when something breaks its always around those connections. you could probably do most things with a small printer if you're creative enough, make parts that dovetail into each other and can be easily glued together but i just want the ability to just give the printer a big print and come back 2 days later to a complete print

That pic is confusing and not about the regular use case for the software. LuBan divides large 3D models into individual pieces that are about the 20^3 cm printing volume of a regular printer and creates dowels for them to attach to each other. With glue they become very sturdy. The "module" part of that pic seems about right. Printing 1m^3 models with a 20cm^3 printer.
