Southern European countries, especially Iberian ones are literal tutorial countries

even in ancient times, it was way easier to live in Portugal. Think of something simple as salt. Portuguese have access to sea salt and they can preserve shit and get by extremely easily with salt. Finland on the other hand? Baltic sea in the gulf of Finland doesnt have enough salt in the water and there has always been trade routes of salt to Finland from places like Germany whenever there was habitance here. Basically, you have no access to salt here. Imagine that. The country is dead for 9 months of the year and it has extreme heat for 1 month and cold as summer for 2 months. You are supposed to get everything in the year done in that time in order to survive the rest of the year, in winter you can only chop wood and stuff
