Two more weeks, and frankly Canada would get caught in the blast massively if such a thing happened

Canadians believe there's a "diversify away from the United States" button that can be pressed and will end their dependence on the US economy with no consequences.

Ending dependence on the USA for Canada would be a multi-decade long project.
>trust me they can hurt America more than we can hurt them
No, just through scale alone. The relationship is asymmetric, so the one with the bigger economy will be less impacted.

If the US suddenly cut all trade and agreements with Canada the US would have a bit of economic turmoil whereas Canada would suffer a famine then completely collapse to eastern european tier living standards

Lmao, 75% of Canadians live within an hour of the US border. Do you know how much easier it is to trade with the US than Europe? Think about it like this. There is a store you like that is a five minute walk from your front door. They are raising their prices. The next nearest store is a 90 minute drive away. That is going to be a pain in the ass no matter what.

We are shipping much less metal to the US, and we started shipping aluminum by ships to Europe two or three weeks ago. Right now in the yard there are 19 rail box cars filled with aluminum blocks leaving for the docks in an hour.
