Today, I was talking to an American and learned something shocking.
He said that, strictly speaking, Turks and Greeks aren't considered white.
As a Japanese person, I honestly can't really tell the difference between someone from Turkey and someone from Sweden—they all just seemed like white people to me.
According to him, there's apparently a sort of hierarchy within white people: at the top are Northern and Western Europeans, followed by Eastern Europeans, and then Southern Europeans at the bottom.
Wow… I had no idea such a thing even existed.
