>>212868071morra is literally the chad of gambling games
>The game of morra has been subject to legal prohibitions since the Middle Ages, due to the frequent brawls it provoked. The game's violent gestures and words lent themselves perfectly to misunderstandings, which often, thanks largely to the contribution of alcohol and the desire to avoid paying the fee, resulted in dramatic consequences between the parties involved (brawls and stabbings).Morra is among the disciplines recognized by the Italian Federation of Traditional Games and Sports, affiliated with CONI. However, the ban on playing in public places and private clubs remains in effect, as set forth in Article 110 of the TULPS (Consolidated Law on Public Safety), as it is still included in the list of prohibited games. In the context of the regulations relating to this ban, the only regions in Italy where this ban has been revoked are the autonomous province of Trento in 2001 and, starting June 7, 2024, the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
In 2023, along with other street games, morra was included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
