Because in some way or another money is work turned into paper. The actual thing that people should really be worrying is why aren't they worried about doing the fundamental things that influence inflation and are part of the cost of living cheaper? In the sense of increasing their activities, and making them more efficient thus cheaper somehow?

How do stonks work then? Some stock may rise in value purely from investor confidence in it with no actual work put in. Or it may fall because every investor loses their confidence. That's economic bubbles 101.
