Woman held captive for two weeks survives by drinking radiator water
A woman appeared before the court in Girona, Spain, for kidnapping.
In May 2023, two friends decided to share an apartment in Santa Coloma de Farners.
But the two women's cohabitation deteriorated at the end of 2024 amid financial disagreements.
So much so that one of them decided to kidnap the other.
"Either you let yourself be tied up, or I'll nail you," she warned. Before binding her hands and feet. To prevent her from leaving, the defendant installed a lock on the door and kept the light off.
Between March and April 2025, the victim was thus kidnapped.
To survive, she had to resort to drinking water from the radiator. She had to extract the water from the radiator and pour it into a bowl to drink it.
The captivity lasted more than two weeks, until April 17, when a neighbor heard the victim's screams.
The defendant was sentenced Wednesday to 11 years in prison. She was facing 21 years in prison, but a plea bargain between the judge and her lawyer reduced the sentence by half, considering that the woman's psychological state had impaired her judgment.
