The people didn't vote for him though. He was not selected by his party and when there was an actual election, he lost a landslide

Sounds like the last decade or so here, we shifted through a few PMs without them even being elected because they kept getting ousted by votes of no confidence. Our current PM won by a landslide only because he wasn't the other guy.

The Bank of England manufactured a panic in the bond markets to force another leadership election where their man was the only candidate.

It’s just the way the political system works. We don’t have a presidential system. You vote for a party and that party picks its leaders. If that leader quits, someone else from the party picks it up. It’s actually an efficient system as it ensures continuity but retards have made it a roundabout of leaders because they pick clowns.

i'd rather have to pick a party that has some internal checks and balances than a leader that can decide to piss on everything while parliament licks his balls

To be fair, their presidential system pre-dates the modern Westminster system by a century.

They were given the realstic option to have either:
A. An elected king, or
B. Some aristocratic douchebag whose only mandate to be in charge is the support other artistocratic douchebags like himself

It's good enough to me, if someone is a massive retard, the party just votes them out and the next person takes the reigns. The 4 year term also never changes, so it doesn't reset when they put a new person in and the public will still vote at the same time as always.

>outside of the USA
America's politica system is just as corrupt and undemocratic as Britain's, in fact even more so. Americans have first-past-the-post AND Gerrymandering.
