Arguably, Japan started to suck up more and more western global influences in a more culture-political way ever since Japanese people stopped using their own internet sites. Over 10 years ago Japanese people played eroges with handhelds, youtube and other western stuff werent as big.
Now because of dawn of vtubing and its global effect. Japanese people have switched to PC and their social media trends and gaming trends and even political trends follow the west.
Japanese have never heard of GTA before GTA VI, they got introduced to GTA 5 through streaming, but now they are waiting for this massive generational game. The cultural effect will be massive and Japanese people, especially younger ones will have more western mindset.
Japan will become western nation soon enough.
