Pennsylvania definitely is. Everything west of Philadelphia is basically identical to Western New York.

Western New York is the diet version of Philadelphia. Pittsburgh > Buffalo. Also Pensnsylvania still has part of the proper Appalachians while New York only has the diet version without the Appalachian hillbilly culture.

I am aware but that's not the reason. I just like the quaintness of RI. seems cozy and isolated but also civilized.

You have very clealr never been to West Virginia if you believe its anything like New York.
The accents, religion, heritage, food, demeanor, mannerisms all differ considerably even in the rural areas of New York.

The cultures very different. The geology's somewhat different. The weather is WAY different (most of West Virginia is humid subtropical with only the tallest peaks being humid continental). The Catskills are very cold by comparison.

I mean the religion is different, the accent is different, heritage is different. Maybe if you're from like Wheeling or Weirton it might be similar but if you're from Huntington or Charleston or Beckley or anywhere in the rural areas around those places anywhere in NY is gonna feel quite different.

Ahh yes states like Maine and West Virginia, known for being โ€œdiet New Yorkโ€
New Jersey is the only one this applies to
