If an opposition government forms it'll have to include the DPFP which itself has pushed restrictions on foreign land ownership and occasionally demagogued about immigration, though they're nowhere near as radical as Sanseito (and also want to cut taxes on the poor, including for immigrants)

From a thirdie perspective there seems to be no solution to European problems other than a new wave of authoritarian governments. It's 1920s and 1930s all again or you'll end up being swallowed by an abyss.

At least that's the standard solution here when everything else fails.

I think that probably means adding Ishin or DPFP to the governing coalition
'cause with Sanseito having so many seats what's the alternative, CDP/Ishin/Reiwa/DPFP/JCP/a bunch of tiny parties and independents? I don't see enough common ground there.
(unless Komeito flips, but if they wanted to they could've done it in 2024)

bad news :(
exit polls are projecting only 3-5 seats, and worse, it's not like they're going to Reiwa (which might legit be more radical, but also has less baggage) but to either the CDP or Sanseito.
The JCP's historically benefited from being the only party willing to stand up to the US and advocate for an independent foreign policy stance. I think having a party on the right do it now in Sanseito is peeling off some of our base.

It is enough to block the revision of article 9. Also you seem to be unaware that this was just the upper house election. This surprise gain will trigger a popularity boost going into the lower house election. We might now see renewed the highest and resistence to American military presence in 50 years.
