Anon, I don't think you realise why schools teach us all foreign lanagues. But I do not blame you for I only realised it very recently.
Schools' task in this matter is to intill into pupils' head grammatical and lexical base knowledge of a learnt langauge, so in the future, if former pupils would want to they could learn said language a lot easier.
You think why so many people here can hop right into Anglophone media after they end education although they severly lack comprehension? Cause they have this base.

I think all schools should be bilingual. Like half the classes taught in one language, half in another.

In anglophone countries it should be English + X language of choice, else it should be the local language + English.
