>>212977041 (OP) Same thing with Russia and China. Big countries are isolated in their own spheres with their own content. They donโt need to consume foreign stuff or travel abroad because thereโs a million things to watch, see and do in their own nations. Kinda like us.
>>212977080 Today I was watching some guy on Instagram rambling about USA politics. I thought he was from New York or something but turns out he was from Sweden. Perfect english(from my pov) too
>>212977172 The "son of plantation owners posting from a gated neighbourhood" trope was never a meme but reality. Applies to most countries south of the mediterranean
I am part of the one percent! But only because I was born in America lol

>>212977677 do you think it's necessary to be rich to learn english? it's considered an easy language compared to portuguese. It's just that most brazilians don't need it and don't waste their time with it

>>212977041 (OP) >hang out with digimon fans online >find large number of Brazilians, including one who runs perhaps the most informative english-language blog on the subject and another who makes one of the top fangames I didn't realize they were so rare, but I'm grateful
>>212977041 (OP) I can count on my hands the number of Brazilians I've met in my life who could speak English fluently. In fact it might need only one hand. These foul creatures who know not of the outside world, I suppose they already live their lives with enough worries, so I can't blame them for not looking beyond the bubble.

>>212977041 (OP) There is no reason for the average Brazilian to learn English. They will never leave the country either because they don't want to or because they can't. And, most importantly, if they ever need a 2nd language to unlock a bunch of countries, they can just learn Spanish instead, which a Brazilian can easily pick up in about 3 months

>>212982786 >>212983694 The level of English education in the average private school is as good as the level in public schools. We only learn the very basics and learn the rest by ourselves (on the internet)
