>>212997934He is still right. When people talking about becoming wealthy there are two things, macroeconomic indicators and infrastructure. Romania has the worst, literally junk tier credit rating in EU, very low (Italy tier) employment, rapidly increasing debt (not overall but the rate of chance in the past decade), overheated economy with public sector increases.
As far infrastructure the only thing that Romania seems to be doing right is the metro expansion in Bucharest (if we ignore the architectural style that is awful)
There are highways you guys have been building for almost 20 years at this point and we are not talking about the mountainous ones with complicated terrain. You do not utilize the EU gibs well either. EU gave you money to replace some railway bridge over some river for a lot of money but you did not even bother to change any other part of the infrastructure so you now have 120 year old rails probably laid down by the Hungarian Kingdom before WW1 with 20km/h speed restriction (if there is any service at all) going to that shiny new expensive bridge. What was even the point? I've been to Cluj recently, there are supposed to be train works around that area but it looked exactly the same as last time I saw it.
You are fucked in Romania if you don't have a car because you don't have any equivalent of like the Volán network here that operates 6k buses that in smaller cities or in-between cities and between the cities and the suburbs/agglomeration. There are many QoL differences like that that make Romania a pain in the ass overall even compared to Hungary.
I normally don't comment on economy but I honestly don't understand where this
>Romania is becoming wealthy thing comes from
>inb4 b-but HungaryYeah but no one pretends the economy here is doing well
