i don't know if i'm getting it wrong or if the map is wrong but why is it segregated like that
it's weird that pretty much everywhere has a majority and there is no plurality anywhere

all of america is like this. or most of it. 90% of the reason american cities are the way they are is to keep different races separated. this is why even when america is only 40% white at the end of the century, most whites will live in 80% white neighborhoods. the Hart-Cellar act doomed the USA to gradual south africa-fication.

read this wikipedia article https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_flight

but to summarize, for most of US history the US was 80% or more white (picrel) but the reality for whites in most places was that it was 100% white. for the most part black people were only a thing in the south, and the south was 50/50 black and white in some areas. the blacks were freed in the civil war, but discrimination persisted especially with jim crow laws so they remained basically as poor as they were when they were slaves. then starting in the 1860s the northern US industrialized massively and became much much richer than the south, especially because the southern economy was based on slavery which was now illegal. so starting after WW1 poor blacks started moving north in what is known as the great migration. but the north, which had always been 95 percent white (not counting native americans on the frontier) couldn't react to the social change of this happening leading to white flight starting in the 50s where whites fled big cities for the suburbs, creating the awful ugly car centric america we have today and turning the previous heart of most cities into a huge racial ghetto, which was poor and crime ridden because all the wealthy people (whites) fled en masse. then you have the hart-cellar act, which is what allowed for non-white immigration (previously prevented by the racial quota laws created in the 1920s) which started the trend of the US going from 80% white to the 50% white it is today, and the white flight just continued as previously white areas were abandoned and filled in with impoverished hispanics. however, since asians are usually rich due to the nature of US immigration laws, they sometimes move into rich white suburbs.

TLDR different races can't get along in america and white people realllllly don't like living near brown people.

but why is this still a thing in modern day if it's rooted in historical racism from 50s and shit
i thought american whites are mostly against racism especially in the blue voting states including both cities posted in this thread
also from the pics it seems like it's just everyone avoiding everyone instead of whites avoiding non-whites or blacks
asians blacks hispanics and whites all have regions in the city with bordering segregated neighborhoods

One of the biggest differences between the American cities and South Korean cities is South Korean rich people tend to gather in the center of the city while American rich people are segregated and they are likely want to live very far from the subway stations. Rich people in South Korea like everything is in working distance. So, like, imagine living in the center of the Gangnam. Every house prices are determined by how near the center of the soul. There are some exceptions, but this is generally true. But I found American people don't like to live near subway stations.
