There are gas showers in the country, but you'll find them in upper class houses or apartments. Most people can only afford the one in your pic (btw I posted that pic originally, that shower is in my bathroom)

It's getting more common now in new constructions, but it's still quite a large sum of money for most houses.

Also, upper class apartments have had shower through the gas that comes via pipes. I don't know how that works, but I lived in an apartment like that.
