We never really refer to the Americas as one. It's always North American and South America so if someone just said America it would be assumed to be USA. It's more common to just call the country USA though.

The USA, exclusively. Otherwise you would say Nordamerika or Sydamerika. If you say you've been to Amerika and then you start talking about Canada, people would think you're retarded.

usa.united states is "egyesült államok" here which is way longer than just saying "amerika". egyesült államok is only used in official texts basically everyone else uses america

Anglosphereans are slightly more likely to say "Americans" than Americans are, while actual Americans are slightly more likely to say "United States" or "USA". Am I the only one to notice this?

But they also say call it "The States", when not a single person in USA says that.

In any case I think arguing about semantics like this is childish. It is what it is.
