What are 'free' elections? Elections are a farce and if your vote actually mattered you wouldn't be allowed to do so.

Russia did in fact hold a free election in 1917, and the Bolsheviks lost badly to Kerensky and the democratic socialists.

It was the whole impetus for the October Revolution. They literally sperged out, said "the people are wrong", and took control.

Then Lenin instituted the idea of "democratic centralism" (top leaders can discuss issues, everyone else MUST obey). And finally Stalin did away with even that modicum of democracy.
