>>213070068 (OP)It's a large and diverse region.
Yakutia has the coldest temperatures where people live, down to -73C. But it also can be warm in summer for short periods of time. I've seen temperatures like +33C on the maps.
South to that located Buryatia and Zabaikalskiy krai with some Buryats, which are Buddhists Mongolic group. They have some steppes.
There is a large river of Amur in Amur oblast and Khabarovskiy krai.
Chukotka has Chukchi people and barely populated. I would call the whole region an arctic desert. There is also a city Pevek which has floating nuclear power plant in the ocean next to it.
Kamchatka is the place in Russia with the most amount of bears. It also has some minority ethnicities and has tons of kino volcanoes. Also their bears are one of the biggest in the world and have darker fur on average.
Magadan oblast is just a place were Soviets looked for gold. Magadan still produces some machinery and equipment for the gold mining. It also was the place of a harsh gulag exile.
Sakhalin oblast is an interesting place. Ainu people were assimilated quite quickly and it was the place of exile in Russian Empire times. Nowadays it has tons of gas and people can live there easily just by fishing and gathering. There were also different Okhotsk people like in Khabarovsk krai and Primorskiy krai. Like Nivkhs, which still barely exist. By the way Nivkhs make many things from fish skin.
