Why is it only anti-semitic when someone criticizes an Israeli, whereas MENA is entirely semitic? Technically calling an Arab a goatfucker would be antisemitic too no?
I see Israelis using that kind of language toward Arabs all the time, wouldn’t that make them antisemitic by the literal definition?

I read about that, but that just doesn't make sense to me because "slava ukraina" originated from neonazis but somehow we don't associate it with them anymore.
yet "antisemitism" is associated with anti-jewishm because some german did not like them in the 19th century

The Jews of the 20th century were clever word-gamers. They deliberately chose "anti-Semitic" because "anti-Jewish" was too on the nose and might make white people question why they specifically were being favored. All of their semantics benefit them by extension/association without directly announcing it. Much in the same way, they used the "black plight" to ram through tons of civil rights legislation to benefit themselves as well.

Lmao you’re acting as if there’s a huge conspiracy to keep using antisemitism as the definition of hatred towards Jews. The definition simply is defined that way because no other word has been proposed. “Jew hatred” doesn’t quite come off the tongue and also it can refer to Jews hating people as well
