yes. went in for other problems that i wanted drugs for. wound up doing the autism assessment, which was nine hours of testing and interviews. they said aspergers. i said k can i get disability or something from that. they say no you live alone, you can work and drive. i said k. but here are anti-depressants for your OCD. i tried those. they helped for a few years then i decided they were detrimental so i quit.

anybody here actually diagnosed with autism?

I kinda feel like even in that case it's a spook because doctors these days will give any diagnosis you want if you go to them and pay for it. If I went to my doctor right now and said "doc I think I have autism, I have trouble talking to people" she would just be like "ok that's possible" and I could then tell everybody I have autism

but as it stands I function well enough that I don't need to go seeking a diagnosis so I'm in this camp of autism larpers even though all signs point in that direction.

diagnosis isn't going to do shit for you anyway i don't see the point. i only did it because it was free, i was unemployed at the time, and i was curious what nonsense they would stamp on me at the end of it. they didn't tell me they were looking for autism going in to it. it was a "psych eval". the only point of diagnosis is to get access to treatment or disability dole.

Diagnosed when I was 11 and then diagnosed again at 28.
I was apparently so rigid in my ways that my first psychologist gave up trying to help me with socializing. Second one didn't even try.
Just told me to apply for permabux so I did.

Here in Sweden it does.
Without a diagnosis you're fucked since they will force you work, study and such even if you can't.
With a diagnosis you have a shield against all that and a possible ticket into permabux like I got.
