There are few artists and political oppositionists from there but I'm not sure their number is big enough to speak of a "minority", it's not even a consistent community. In some places like Miami you're mostly noticed for organized crime. Though that's not singling you out, Miami is a hotbed for that shit and the old-school Italian families are still very active there.

There is a Russian orthodox church sórt of close to where I live. So there are quite a few Russians around on the weekend after they have mass or whatever, or at least more than I'd expect.
They are not treated better or worse than anyone in particular, no one thinks that much about them one way or the other.
