I am going to have a moment of honesty, they're referred to as Tatars/Mongols only jokingly (or seriously if they're stupid) by Serbs and Macedonians.
The reason why some of them are brown is either because of gypsy or native Balkan admixture.

They're traitors of slavdom and they backstabbed Serbia any time they could even if it benefited anti-Slav countries like Turkey, Greece or Albania.
Even if they are genetically or culturally Slavs, by their acts alone they removed themselves from Slavdom>>213124806 (OP)

Why would anyone want to be a Slav tho? I wish we had another identity we could cing to, being a Slav is the least prestigious self-identification to imagine, literally people whose tribal name became eponymous for the institution of slavery because of how many of them were taken or sold as slaves to other nations.

Why does Vlach and Bulgarian identity is referred to almost as if they are a single continuum in the middle ages even though they speak a completely different language? Also where did all of the Pechenegs and the Cumans disappeared to?

No one thinks like that, there are no positive stereotypes associated with Slavs as a whole, only negative ones. And no, "Slav women" is not positive if you are a Slav because Slavic women prefer foreign men (exactly because they have a huge inferiority complex arisen from the burden of being a Slav)

Back in the days lifestyle was more of a defining feature for your identity than the language. Vlachs had a very similar lifestyle to Balkan Slavs, they shared the same religion and a big part of culture so the language was less relevant. Despite linguistic barrier, inter-ethnic marriages were quite common too.

That's nonsense really.
The main people who mixed Vlachs in reference to Bulgaria were the crusaders of the Latin Empire. They often used Moesians instead of Bulgarian, too.
That's why history should be read in context. Ancient authors liked to use completely anachronistic or geographically linked names that should not be read literally.

When I was a kid I read somewhere that Bulgars were a Turkic tribe so I assumed Turkey and Bulgaria must then be some kind of brother countries that like each other very much do their shared origin

It is quite possible, although the Bulgar language has not been preserved, so we are going off of a few tens of words.
I would bet on them being some western steppe tribes that were conquered by Turkic speakers, so their language had to change in that direction.
The Asiatic DNA in skeletons seems to be too rare for them to be original Turks.
