They are possibly the most Westernized blacks of the New World. That whole Wakanda LARP is cringe af. They have more in common with the whitest cracker than with the most cosmopolitan African.

Yeah but not really though. The dashiki in West Africa is literally no older than the 1970s.
Kente were only worn by a handful of cultures and the kufi cap was worn only by Muslims in the Sahel. Black Americans barely descend from those people. Black people in America are an amalgamation of unrelated individuals, not the diaspora of a civilization.

i’m a black african (ethiopian Amhara) and i actually don’t mind it when afroamericans embrace their heritage. if whites and asians can do it (i’ve seen polish-american neo nazis and chinese-americans posting VGH pictures of samurai armor) then i don’t see why they cant too. what i do have an issue with is when they start rewriting history, ie, ‘we wuzzing’ or when they claim the slave trade was not an actual trade but rather “le kidnapping/torture”.

not really, i was never accepted by the black guys at my school. i mainly hung out with the chess club asians and white autists. made some latino friends from anime and jazz club too.

i’m your typical first gen immigrant, assimilated into “white” america (talking without an accent, living in a white-majority area, having an education, etc.) but i still engage with/hold onto my culture with my family. also my gf is amhara and we both go to our local Tewahedo church so yeah.

Ive seen africans call african-americans niggers. They seem to hate them because their ancestors were sold as slaves. Its crazy
