>>213135757>the Croatians are still ottomanized to a degree, more than the SlovenesThat goes without saying
>With them it's more a 'we're western-oriented politically and you're eastern' sort of situation, with the cultural concerns being more fodder to further stoke up antagonism than actual glaring differences.Croatia is naturally not so pro-west or anti-Russia much like Slovenia. The only reason we're leaning slightly more west is because of Serbs, not a direct Russian threat. Our own Mr. Milanović is quite pro-Russian himself.
I used to think our sabor sometimes behaves embarrassingly or how Mr. Milanović talking like a funny populist retard on camera was bad but then I saw footage from Serbian politicians and how they behave, that's another cultural low compared to Croatia. It's like they put all the illiterate village retards into one building and dressed them up in suits. They can't even go 10 minutes on TV without dropping a long jeboteee, I mean we curse but it would cause a decent outcry and an apology from the political party if a politician did something like that, Mr. Milanović is an exception, no one minds him dropping one curse each year because he initially built his persona as a clown.
But OP said if there were no Ottomans, which implies both Serbs and Croats probably being more civilized and no Serbs living in Northern Bosnia or Central Croatia causing ethnic tensions. So outside of potential minor disputes around Dubrovnik and a theoretical border somewhere along Bosnia we wouldn't mind each other all that much.
