I spent some time back living with my parents to save money up. Since I was living with them I went to their church. Now I'm back on my own in a new city but my mom keeps asking if I found a church there.

I don't want to go. But I don't want to lie and I also don't want my mom to worry about me going to hell. My weekends have been busy as I'm meeting lots of people since I didn't know anybody here before coming. I just don't want to go to church.

most people don't care, but they will likely say they are christian out of habit
i mean my mom will tell you she is christian despite never having been baptized since she was born during communism, nor has ever been to a church

Most of them are either straight up atheists or just non-practicing ones (like only going during major holidays). The only ones that go regularly are either +65 year old women or just very young families.
