How common are Eastern Bloc vehicles in Eurasia today? How often do you see them on the roads?

they're considered youngtimers and actually more expensive than modern cars (if in good condition)

They're pretty rare these days but occasionally you might spot an 80s Lada

ukraine has most of them, even more than in russia because of poverty and soulfucking import tax

because of that, lets say polish poorfag will drive 2006 Passat, while Ukrainian one will drive 1988 Lada 2106.

i come from a poor family, so my dad had almost every single soviet car at home.

Lada 2106 is the very best of them. I would own it myself. The absolute worst is Moskvitch, especially picrel. Also Volga is meh, overrated car. ZAZ 968 is very fun to drive.

It's a bastardized version of 1962 Ford Falcon. It has american floaty, soft comfortabless, but really, painfully, slow.

Originally, GAZ engineers wanted to put V8 there, same as in Falcon, but Communist party decide that a v8 in non commercial vehicle is too much for a soviet citizen, so they put 80hp Straight 4 in it. It's just awfully slow, especially uphill. Engine is unreliable and prone to overheating.

So my grandpa had it. Everytime we go to forest to gather mushrooms we had to through muddy backroads. That thing nailed it, with a dying horse roaring, but nailed it. Insane offroad capabilities for a little sedan. It's primitive and simple, in a good way of using these words.

In my rural Eastern German shithole I often see various antique, not a car guy so can't really what they are. Lada Niva and Volga are probably the most common Soviet cars I see.

i know its similar to the ford falcon, but i still prefer the styling of the volga for some reason. i wouldnt be able to maintain either of them anyway, i just think it looks cool. didnt government use models have a v8?

Plenty of grampas rolling out their LADA's in some parts of the country. They keep them in the garage during rainy and cold seasons.
