Government credit ratings go down if the government is fiscally irresponsible and continuously make large deficits. Austerity always comes after these things but people make it sound like it begins with austerity THEN the problems come up which is obviously not true. There are places so isolated in Finland that nobody will ever even know that you built a cabin.
