If the last syllable is stressed and it ends in n, s or a vowel, that syllable's vowel needs an accent
If the second to last syllable is stressed and it does not end in n, s or a vowel, that syllable's vowel needs an accent
If the word has 3 or more syllables, and the stressed syllable isn't the last or second to last one, then the stressed syllable's vowel needs an accent
