Japan is proof you don't need to listen to the experts about anything. Sure their GDP has stagnated. Sure their population is falling.
So what? The Japanese people still enjoy one of the highest standards of living on Earth, and importantly, they get to do it while immersed in their own culture, surrounded by their own people.
The economists say they've "lost" three decades, but how has this actually affected the day-to-day life of a Japanese person? They can never say. They can only point to charts.
Meanwhile countries like the UK or Canada which listened to the experts took in hundreds of thousands of immigrants to maintain population growth. Now those countries are falling apart. And they didn't even get GDP growth in the end!
