Philadelphia has gentrified soho districts filled with white liberals, so that one. Childhood friend worked as a game dev there and he's a massive soyboy. He didn't mention crime or anything like that at all when retelling his exp. He just kept talking about all the whacky, funkopop gamer bars with street fighter tournaments and shit that him and his coworkers used to hang out in.

Easily Philadelphia. Philly has tons of nice areas already and the bad areas are rapidly developing as more people have started to catch on to how cheap the city is and are moving there. It’s like Chicago, the majority of the country has a warped view of how dangerous life is there because of the news stories from a few problem areas. None of that effects the city center.

Southern cities are the absolute worst. I’ve been to both St. Louis and Jackson and had a brother who lived in St. Louis for years. It’s fucking horrible. The police have given up in some areas and it shows. Even basic stuff like traffic laws that you take for granted elsewhere have gone out the window. Every red light is run, every stop sign people blow through without even slowing down. You'll be walking down a nice street and suddenly turn the corner and you’re in the middle of the hood and every building is boarded up. Tornadoes come through fairly regularly and there are crumbling shells of destroyed buildings all over the place. It’s genuinely dystopian. There was an intersection I drove through every day when I was visiting that must have had 20+ beggars swarming the cars.
