>>213465431It depends on how hands on you want to be. The more you automate it, the more expensive it gets and the more room it takes. I have a small mill for my grains, a small press for my grapes, a mash tun for the beer, a pot with a spigot welded onto/into it for boiling/cooking and easy removal, a little copper cooling coil, a few carboys (big jugs) for fermenting, and a few cases of fliptop bottles because fuck messing around with corks.
Of the three, mead gives me the hardest time. I'm still trying to figure out what I actually want from it, nevermind how to get it. I've made some good stuff, but it's almost always a bit too sweet, or too dry, or the buckwheat honey will do something unexpected.
